Need Help Solving a String Length Problem!

Hi Guys,

I have an Agile 7-String that is a 27" Scale and has a reverse headstock. My Low-B and Low-E strings are too short making string changes very difficult. So far, Ernie Ball and GHS have a big FAIL going on. DR has the length by just a touch. My only solution thus far is to possible change the tuning machines to locking ones. But the Grovers it came with work fine, so I'd rather not. Anyone know of a brand and/or string set that will solve this?

I usually play .009, .011, .016, .026, .036, .046, .060

I have D'Addario 10-74 on this and its 25.5"-27" scale with plenty of extra that should fit on a reverse head-stock ?
I knew I didn't trim the strings for a reason :)

Re: Need Help Solving a String Length Problem!

I have the same problem on a Gretsch Country Gentleman 12-string. The headstock is longer than normal for a typical G string, and the high G (which goes in the uppermost tuner) barely has enough length to wind. I can't give it as many winds as I typically do. I've been using d'Addario electric 12-string sets and I wrote to their customer service describing the problem. Their answer was something to the effect of "our string lengths meet spec as advertised". I need to try some other manufacturers.
