Need help with Delay

For the first time ever I've started using effects pedals. Really like the Sparkle Drive, Small Stone, Electric Mistress and Analog Chorus pedals.

However....the Boss DD-6 pedal I'm really have trouble with. Any settings you could suggest would be appreciated. While I can make it repeat and amuse myself, I can't really find anything practical to use it for. What I've heard other players do is use it to either warm up their cleans or help sustain on their solos. I don't come close on either accounts!

The mix knob is your key to usable sounds. I haven't used a Boss delay in years, so I don't have a reference, but on my Line 6 I keep the mix around 10 o'clock (12 is equal parts dry/wet on mine) and set the repeats to around 4 or so. Set it so you get a repeat a little shorter than a quarter note. That should give you a good soujd for leads.

Another cool sound is the slapback where you have one - three reapeats very quickly after you stike the strings. Play rockabilly and it's awesome....

High end cut adjustments are good if the pedal has it.
