Re: Need Help with Pearly Gates Trembucker
I am for sure going to have to agree with this, I have tried all kinds of different humbuckers and single coils in tandem in HSS strats and I always come back to at least one guitar having 2xSSL1's and a Pearly Gates. I have a Pearly Gates Plus that I tried with the SSL1's for a little while once. I thought it sounded more hollow and less full then the Stock Pearly Gates. The Pearly Plus sounds bloody fantastic in mahogany body with a maple neck and rosewood fretboard, or a classic les paul mahogany body and neck, maple top, and rosewood fretboard setup though.
a PG works so well with the SSL1 in neck and middle. THey're not noiseless, I know, but good shielding goes a long way. The tones are just to die for. Very classic, very pure.
