Need help with recording hardware.... techno/ synth/poppy music

So I am old school metalhead.... AAAAAnnnd thus, I know nothing about new pop/synth/techno "music" whatsoever....

Take this type of stuff....

it is 100% completely foreign to me on how they make it...
BUT some of the girls in one of my recording classes want to make music along these lines

was wondering what type or brand of keyboard, (or whatever) even makes this kind of music? (It would have to be really intuitive, or easy to use...)

Could anyone recommend something to me, that I could possibly purchase for our studio to allow these kids to venture into this venue/genre?

My first suggestion is that you look up who recorded and produced these songs and read interviews with them. A surprising number of K pop hits were actually written and produced by a guy in Scandinavia! Google Thomas Troelsen for starters.

As far as synths go, if your budget is limited, I would go with an Alesis keyboard controller and use soft synths in your DAW. It is STRONGLY recommended that you export the soft synth parts as wav or aiff files and re import them so you don't run out of processing power when the track count starts piling up.

first buy a cycling outfit, then spray paint it black. then get some fishnet stockings...

Listen to Twighlight on this one. Lots of synth VST's. Either built in to your DAW or lots of free available too! Get a controller or be a real boss and click in every note on piano roll! ....or get a controller.

+1 to what Twilight said. The great majority of floorfiller electro tracks these days are completely produced in-da-box, totally automated:

A MIDI keyboard / controller, a powerful computer with a fast processor and HD / SD drive and at least 8GB of RAM and a DAW like Ableton Live, Fruity Loops or Reason should do it.
