Need Help-YJM Fury-(neck position) - no sound

Hey everyone.

I just recently put in a YJM fury in the neck position in my LTD strat. The previous PU was a standard single coil from ESP. On this new PU I soldered the red and white together and taped them off, soldered the green/bare to ground (volume pot) and the black to the selector switch.

I plugged it in and noticed a weak sound with the pickup when used together with the middle PU (position 2) so I figured it was out of phase - so i reversed the black and green.

plugged it in again - and the guitar went dead - absolutely no sound at all. Opened it up again - made sure my red/white were soldered together and taped up correctly .. and I again reversed the black and green now back to the original way I wired it the first time ( black to switch , green to ground)..

Plugged it in this time now and the bridge and middle PUs work fine but the YJM in the neck is completely dead .. even in position 2 when combined with the middle PU.

can anyone help with this ?

do you have a meter? test what you get between the black and green wires

youll probably need to set it on the next higher setting since in series the yjm is over 25k if memory serves. its the old style stack design like the stks1 and stks2 so the dck is high while the output is more vintage like

Just an update .. as a means to troubleshoot .. I removed the YJM and replaced it with the original stock neck single coil (white to the selector switch, black to back of volume pot ) and now I am getting the same result - dead- no sound at all coming from the neck position and neck/middle (position 2)…

is it possible that I burned the neck pickup terminal (lug) on the selector switch while soldering when I started this whole process ? Is that possible? It is a standard 5 way selector switch.

Keep in mind..
The middle pickup and bridge pickup sound fine in all the other remaining positions.

Thanks again for your help

its very possible your switch isnt working correctly. the dck reading is where it should be so i think the yjm pup is fine
