If the CC has too many mids, then I'd opt for the Custom, or more on the vintage side, the 59/Custom Hybrid. Both sound wonderful in Strats, and sound pretty good split. too.

Single HB? PATB-3. Sounds thick, clear and not compressed.

Hadn't thought to suggest the PATB-3 but one of my Floydcasters has it and sounds sublime. Less raucous than the PG+, but fatter. And it still has attitude. Great pickup!
