Need pick up wiring advice info please

Just bought some new pups. Can someone give me a little info on wiring options. I am taking it to a tech but I was wondering what are the differences and pros and cons of" series wiring", " parallel wiring", "splitting" pick ups and "push pull". If my cab is wired in series or parallel should the pickups be wired the same as the cab?

Thanks

No - especially since some four driver arrays are wired in a combination of series and parallel.

On pickups, series/parallel refers to how the two coils of the pickup are interconnected. It affects the nominal output and tonality of the pickups. Coil splitting is the deliberate switching off of one coil to simulate the sound of a Fender style pickup. Push-pull is a control pot with a DPDT switch physically mounted beneath and using the shaft of the pot to operate the switch. Push-push is a more sophisticated version of a push-pull. It leaves the control pot shaft less vulnerable to physical damage.

Ok thank you...let me ask you this what are the sound tone differences offered by series vs parallel wiring....?

Thanks again..

Re: Need pick up wiring advice info please

Series - normal humbucker, thick, midrangy
Parallel - brighter, single-coil like sound, more chime, still humbucking
Split - single coil sound, slight loss of volume/output, thinner, brighter, can be a little twangy depending on the coil and guitar

10-4 Thanks a lot bro
