Need pickguard color suggestions for a build.

I have a surf green strat body. I'll probably put a roasted maple neck or similar on. I'm planning to use cream/ivory pickup covers. I'm thinking a mint pickguard. What do you guys suggest?

White covers, white pearloid pickguard.

+1

As soon as I read surf and maple I immediately thought a mint guard

I Spitfire dark vintage tortoise. Expensive...but worth it IME. Nuthin' like real cellulose-nitrate tort.

If not that, single-ply parchment.

Re: Need pickguard color suggestions for a build.

Do you want a vintage look, a “deluxe” modern look, something else?

Mint with aged white plastics looks great, parchment with aged white looks pretty good, tort is a very distinct look, you’ll either love it or hate it. Pearloid is the same, it can be deluxe or it can be cheap, it really depends on the execution.

+1 fore the spitfire if you can afford it.

I like tort - I find the genuine fender ones to be the best looking - the cheap ones look cheap.
Same thing with mint - you can get the wong shade for your guitar. Even fender do a couple of different mint tones.
White pearl always looks crisp! For covers I like white or eggshell, parchment.
3 ply black or white is probably the less expensive and easiest.

Have you got a pick of your guitar!?

With a surf green finish, you cannot go wrong with a white pickguard, unless you want something flashy or weird.

My sensibilities lean toward the mint or white pickguard. I like cream as well. Anything else would clash too much.
