I'm probably gonna throw on the hex screws mentioned above. I like the prospect of having gear with modding potential.

I'm confident that the A8 magnet will pretty much move things into perfection. Is it true that the A8 magnet has more output compared to other magnets (the write-up on the Alt 8 seems to indicate that)?

The hex screws will make the pup brighter! You had mentioned that it was too bright so take care. A bronze base plate will sweeten out the pickup, or a 250K tone pot. You can also try out the custom/59 hybrid which is posted at the top of this forum.

Yeah A8's add power to your output, which is good IMO.

Just as I expected (and was told by several of the helpful members here), the C8 hit the nail on the head for what I was looking for in a bridge pickup. It's got a good amount of output, it has a nice EQ (nothing to extreme in any direction), clarity, versatility (it splits very well)--I love it.
