Need Pickups for Strat?

I've got an alder bodied strat, with a maple neck and fretboard and I want a different sound. I want to go with some single coil sized humbuckers. I wanted to put a lil JB in bridge, a duckbuker in the middle, and i don't know what to put in the neck. What would be better a lil screamin demon or a lil 59? i like to solo on the neck pickup. Any suggestions? and how do all of these pickups do with distortion? enough for really heavy rock?

Re: Need Pickups for Strat?

I just put a lil '59 in my bridge and it sounds excellent. very versatile sound. I play everything from clean tones to moderate overdrive like blues to heavy overdrive for hard rock. I just ordered a duckbucker for my middle but i havn't installed it yet. I also am about to install another lil '59 in my neck position. I highly recommend the lil '59. I don't think the screamin' demon will sound that great in a neck position. I also like to solo a lot in my neck position to get that fat tone that it sounds like your going for too. The lil '59 really screams when you want to and it cleans up nice. Very Les Paul-ish. Also, I think you'll be more pleased with a lil' 59 in your bridge than a JB Jr. I looked at both pickups before i decided and the '59, in my opinion, was much better sounding and more versatile.
