I would prefer a humbucker set up but everything else i'm open to. Options i've looked at were building one from Warmoth or Mike Mushok model from PRS. (the guitar player for staind "Not Arron Lewis")
Re: Need recommendations for a six string Baritone
reverend has started making a baratone that has dual humbuckers, and the cool think is they are close to normal scale so its not a huge change going from a regular guitar. the scale length is 26 3/4". they have 2 models one with p90s and one with the reverend railhammer humbucker pickups. they both have bolt on necks.
Re: Need recommendations for a six string Baritone
Find a baritone Shecter Blackjack. I got one for a steal and it came standard with a a JB/59 set wired to a five way to split the pickups in positions 2 and 4. Killer tone.
Re: Need recommendations for a six string Baritone
I just got an LTD MHB-400. Standard Strat-shaped body, neck through. Since I like maple fretboards and bolt-on necks I'll be putting it up for sale soon enough.

If you don't mind going all the way down to 30", and getting the equivalent of a Bass VI, Ibanez makes the SRC6, which would probably sound righteous under heavy distortion.
