I'd you're going to spend 400 on a line 6, buy a Vetta combo. No Spiders, at all.

If you're looking for teh br00tz tonezzz, find a Vox Valvetronix xl (the black tolex and dark grill).

thats like opposite of what everyone just recommended you brutha
really, just try out some of the suggestions. youll find that they sound better than that. way better.
also I would not want to be caught gigging with that thing; all the metal bands I have heard using line 6 - the guitars get really lost in the mix since it is so one dimensional of a sound.

Thanks guys I'm having a bit of difficulty finding some of the recommendations on here to try but I'll keep trying and yeah I'm not a big fan of line 6 but I thought maybe the higher end ones are a bit better than the practical amps anyways thanks.... I'm going to try out an orange dark terror later today

Dark terror is awesome. You would be better off with a Randall solid state, Marshall Velveeta or maybe a Dime. A 6505 combo is also around 400

at all volume levels and bass heavy like ola englund??? ya you need at least 50 watts. 15 watts just aint gonna cut it; it can be heard over the bass/drums but the chug and umph will be lost
where do you live? is there craigslist? you could put up a "wanted to buy" ad and then go to a rehearsal room and blast the amp out. can you go to a rehearsal room and rent an amp from someone?

Kinda difficult I don't have a lot of time to do a lot of running around and I'm not sure of any rehearsal rooms nearby... I mostly want a good solid Distortion that I can have at tolerable levels I do live in an apartment.... ya more data may render better forum feedback if you dont have time to run around and try before you buy
does drummer turn up amplified kit to normal drum levels, what venues do you want to play, what are all the components of your current rig, what style music exactly do you play and do you have clips of it, etc etc

Not worried about playing venues for anytime soon mainly just for practical so volumes aren't terribly loud drums are quieter than your acoustic kit would be... We are mainly focused on practising and recording if that helps

Maybe because I just finished playing my Laney GC 80 A
Thick British tonez with a diode clipping drive section. That let's you get that crunch at any volume
Oh but mine is solid state
And a single HH 12 inch speaker
If you look GC used you can sometimes find them for around $200
Built like tanks
Loud

There's no guitar centres in Canada that I know of society screwed there all I have within 2 hours is a few little independent music stores who mostly carry fender, Marshall, jet city, Hayden, Blackstar, and a few vox... So it's hard to try out a lot of the recommendations on here....
