Need suggestions for fat tone

I'm buying a use Yamaha SA800 semi-hollow body guitar. (Can't afford the 335 I like the tone from Larry Carlton. Don't know if he has custom pu's but what SD pu gives that super fat warm mellow tone (neck)?

I personally can't tell much difference listening to the samples from the pu selector.

For Fat Warm Mellow Tone Look At The Seth , Antiquity And Bendito Pickups. Also If Those Dont Work I Would Try A 59' And A Jazz.

I'll second the recommendations of the Seth, Antiquities and Benedetto (Kent Armstrong), BUT FIRST...

...play that baby a while and find out for sure what it lacks first.

Just curious, if you don't mind my asking, why the "Kent Armstrong" in paranthesis after the Benedetto?
