Am I missing something here? That reinforces exactly what I was taught, and hopefully, what I said. Quote from first paragraph:
The word "conventional" current was coined so they wouldn't have to say "the way the old guys got it wrong."
That's the way our professor explained it to us, and that seems to be what that paper is saying.
In 1752, prior to electricity being identified with the electron, Ben Franklin chose a convention regarding the direction of current flow.
Franklin assumed that positive charge carriers flowed from positive to negative terminals. We now know this is incorrect.
