Need wiring diagram for a 5 way switch

:)Hello,

I'm planning on rewiring a copy of a dual pickup Ernie Ball Stingray bass using either an STC 3M4 or STC 3A tone circuit board.

I know that the neck and bridge pickups are wired to the 5 way switch first and then the wiring continues to the volume and tones pots and then down to the STC-3M4/3A. SD's website shows the wiring diagram for the 3-band tone circuit STC from the volume and tone pots down to the jack, etc but I cannot find anything showing how the 5 way switch is connected to the STC or the pots.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram from the pickups to the 5 way switch?

Thanks.

Have you tried the Ernie Ball Music Man website?

No, Music Man did not respond to my email for a wiring diagram.

Does anyone have any suggestions??

I managed to find a diagram on the EBMM website that illustrated what the five selector switch positions are. If you know how many poles the selector switch has and whether the pickup coil pairings are in series or parallel, it should be easy enough to deduce the rest.

I am getting a pair of SMB-4A and SMB-4D to use with a STC-3M4. Here is the way I want the humbuckers to operate just like EB has on their dual pickup Stingray basses.

That is the same diagram that I found.

The coils of individual StingRay pickups are normally connected together in parallel. I would expect the fake Jazz Bass combination (coils 1&4) to also be wired in parallel. The coils 2&3 selection might be in series in an attempt to emulate a Precision Bass.

A 24-contact Superswitch could achieve this. Some of the switches with fewer contacts might also be able to do the job. It really does depend upon whether the Coils 2&3 combination is series or parallel.
