I need a backup. A good shredderish guitar in the 200$ range. Preferably Basswood. What do you have? Or suggest a model.

Re: NEEDED! Guitar in 200 dollar range

Dude what are you talking about? A good shredder (wait isn't that an oxymoron?) can shred on anything.

Haha, very true, and I can. But I stray away from strats or squire types. Not my thing sonically or playably.

Re: NEEDED! Guitar in 200 dollar range

Why can't you keep the one you have and change harware, pups, etc if they are needed?

Re: NEEDED! Guitar in 200 dollar range

No pickup rings and not enough room for EMG's.

Pickup rings are like 3 bucks... If you don't want to route you can always sand out the cavities.

IMO it seems silly to get rid of a guitar when you already have one that could be used.

Ok so the cheating ex giving it to me plays a role when it comes to this. :laugh2:

Oh man, wish I could help you out. I have a Charvel 475 with an EMG81...I just don't have time to deal with shipping and such. Sounds like it would fit your needs nicely though.

Hi -

I'm debating whether or not to sell my jackson dk2.

Any interest there?

It's not a shredder guitar, but it will take EMG's, and sound very fat and thick. Import Hamer Archtop. Killer sounding guitar, a little different but very, very good player. The Duncan Designed Distortion set it has in it sounds pretty damn killer, and would do as is for the style music you play, especially as a backup.
