Negative Feedback and Crossover Distortion qs?

Hello,

Right, I understand that crossover distortion is caused by an amplifier with a push/pull configuration, using two transistors, because you need aminimum voltage to get them to 'switch on'. But how exactly does the negative feedback work to eliminate this? Are you simply overlaying the original signal to fill in the gaps. or it there something more complex going on?

Thanks to all you clever people in advance,

Rich
