This is an odd one with the nice top most of these that I've seen are plain tops. Dave Hill from Slade uses one a lot.

The unchamfered flamed maple top and binding all scream early Eighties. Gibson issued Explorers and Vees with these appointments. The long travel bridge and TP6 tailpiece might well be retrofit parts. The whole thing could be a luthier job. New body on existing SG Special neck.

You're right. I used to play in a band with a guy that had a bound Flying V with a Kahler on it. His was cherry sunburst. I can't remember if it had any flame on it or not.

Now this...

This one is interesting...carved top, trap markers, neck binding, and most importantly P-90's. Looks like the love child of a buff Les Paul and a very sexy SG.

The original poster's SG looks like a genetic mutation. Hideous!
