As musicians, we go through 9-volt batteries like tour buses go through diesel. I use a total of eight 9V's on stage; 5 for my basses, 2 for my direct box and 1 in my tuner. I switched to the Ultralife Lithium cells and was amazed with the results.
I use them with my Seymour Duncan ASB II's, an STC-3A preamp and also an STC-2A preamp. Two of my basses are 18V and the Ultralife batteries are lasting up to 5 TIMES LONGER than the alkalines were. And because of its superior voltage curve, the Ultralife actually REDUCES NOISE in active electronics, providing significantly more headroom and a cleaner signal.
The cool thing is, they're giving them away FREE! They're actually rebranding the battery to specifically target audio professionals and musicians. They're starting out in eight target cities. If you'd like to demo some, get in touch with me and I'll have them send a six-pack out to you as soon as they become available (4 - 6 weeks).
