New Alt Metal Blackouts

Has anyone used these yet?
I only see one video up on YouTube for them and it's fluffs,

Pretty good video, but his fractal setup can really make almost any pickup sound stellar.

I'm looking for a set of pups to wake up a specific guitar I have that seems kind of dull no matter what I've wired into it. I've decided it needs actives and as much as I worship my EMTY Blackouts, this guitar might need something even a tad brighter.

So I guess my question is, how do these new Alt metal blackouts compare to the ahb1, or ahb3s specifically as it pertains to mid and high freqs?

Website eq claims they are bright and that's what I'm hoping for!

I'm hoping these are just rebranded EMTY pickups since the endorsement dissolved! That would make my day so much brighter!

I was thinking they are. The EMTYs are no longer in the Duncan site.

I don't like Fluff's videos, personally. I remember he once made a vlog stating pickups don't matter, LOL. He's such a sellout.

Roger that.^

Can anyone here on the inside confirm or deny if it is exactly the EMTY, or a slight tweak on the EMTY?

Or is it its own, new creation? The language around it's description is very similar to what they used for the AHB3 Mick Thompson. And the website EQ is exactly the same.

I don't know if that will ever be well known.

Yeah, my guess is that it falls under the 'trade secrets' heading. They might not spill the beans even if they know. A better question might be 'How are they different than the EMTYs'.

Yes, wording is legally very important.

Someone please dig up an answer on that and get back to me ha ha.
I am hoping they are legally not allowed to discuss it, because that tells me it's pretty much the same pickup.

If they can discuss small differences, I'm still excited because there is a chance they made them even a touch better.

The EMTY is a flat ripping pickup! Heck I'll probably end up buying another guitar just so I can get these pickups into something!

Funny...I didn't even catch that wording in the email, but I am sure I wasn't the intended target.

Honestly, now that they're not a sig model from an artist I don't really like, I'm more likely to try them out.
