Heya! Haven't been here in a while, busy with work and a cluster of social obligations. So yeah I just got this thing from a buddy who gave me a stupid good deal on it. Retubed and has had a couple of resistors replaced recently.

I'm kind of stupid excited about this thing. I'm a huge fan of The Who and Pink Floyd. Haven't had the chance to let it loose with my own gear but it sounded heavenly when I tried it.

Major score, congrats! Tommy Bolin used Hiwatt amps as well. You are in great company!
The styling looks like my Hiwatt 4x12 (which weighs a ton).

Robert Fripp used them, too and he sounded wonderful back then (still does).

I built one of those and it's a great amp. I can only assume an original will be amazing... Congrats!

i have one,. and I think it doesnt hold a candle to a DR103 at what Hiwatts are supposed to do. Probably ditch it.

Actually, I meant it's just what *I want from the Hiwatt..many if not most desire the famous golden Hiwatt crunch, and the 504 does exactly that when opened up. I won't probably get rid of mine cause #1, I can't afford a 103, and also the DR504 is actually very clean with a lot of headroom in the livingroom, which is where I play. Speakers are going to be a factor. A really loud clean Fane helped me achieve much more of the clean clear Hiwatt tone I was after myself..not cheap, and I need one more. Luckily I had a nice 2x12 cabinet already so no extra expense there.
