New Amp Day!

Re: New Amp Day!

Nice score. I am looking at one of those. Glad to hear you are happy with the purchase. Your feedback will influence my decision to pick one up.

Re: New Amp Day!

The other amps I tried in this category didn't sound horrible, but didn't hold a candle to the Ampeg. All class D power sections.

Fender Rumble 500, Traynor Small Block 500, some 500 watt GK Micro head that was $200 more than the others (and was the least impressive sounding).

The Ampeg had the deepest low end of all and really punchy mids. The mid shift knob is nice too.

Re: New Amp Day!

I've never used the 500. but have used several PF-350s and always loved them.

Good luck with it.

Re: New Amp Day!

nice! if i had to buy a new bass amp id be pretty happy with that. i have a ampeg svt5pro and gk 800rb and havent really played bass live in about ten years :D

Re: New Amp Day!

Yes, but then you're going to want to bi-amp them.

i have a 4x10 and 1x15 and have bi-amped them and went back to just running both full range. the ampeg i have is a swiss army knife of bass amps so it lets you do all sorts of fun stuff but i liked the feel and sound of running both cabs full range better than bi-amping. i also play four string basses and dont play metal. if i did, maybe the bi-amp would suit me more.

Re: New Amp Day!

if you do that, id suggest an adjustable crossover so you can pick the frequency where it splits the signal
