For that tight, saturated metal tone, they aren't totally suitable without pedals IMO. For more old school metal sounds, they are spot on though.

Im looking to upgrade rather than downgrade :laugh2:.

Tsl is more of a rock amp, its also a lot cheaper than a 5150/6505. (atleast here in the uk), ive played a few Tsl's and Dsl's, totally the wrong direction for me, im looking for something more along the lines of the Engl Se, Amazing sounding and extremely flexable, There isnt a marshall that can do anything my Peavey cant (apart from the Mode4, but that thing is a peice of crap).

Im going to attempt to try a Krank, Engl SE and a Cornford Mk50 (theres a dealer close to me for cornford, so why not) .
