New Amp + New Pedalboard

Re: New Amp + New Pedalboard

I would love to load up my PT Nano with a Rat, a fuzz, a phaser, and an Electronic Capistan. That would be the perfect mini jam board

if you should desire such pedals, pm me. I have a rat deucetone (4 rats in 1) and a phaser I will be selling shortly.

Re: New Amp + New Pedalboard

I got the board all wired up and ready to go yesterday, so I busted out the actual camera. Pics:

I ordered a Lava pedalboard cable set for the row of top jack pedals that was supposed to get here yesterday so I'd have them for my jam sesh later today, but Amazon Prime has let me down.

Re: New Amp + New Pedalboard

I had a jam session today and got to use the board and the Egnater for quite a bit. The board is awesome, albeit GIGANTIC. It won't even fit in the trunk of my Elantra without going diagonally.

The amp is awesome, but I much prefer the way it sounds with my Fender cab. I'm going to do some speaker swapping at some point and see how that works. If I can't get the Mesa cab to sound as good with the Egnater as with the Fender cab, I may just need to start looking for a new cab.

My germanium fuzzes (Sunface and Bone Machine) don't seem to being run after the Mobius though. Boo... now I guess I'll just have to run it in stereo.

Re: New Amp + New Pedalboard

Well, I rewired the board last night. I wanted to accomplish a three things:

I decided not to go with a pedalboard interface, so I needed to make the jacks that go to the front of the amp and the effects loop easily accessible. The Timmy is the last pedal in the chain going to the front of the amp, and the volume pedal is the first in the effects loop.

My fuzz pedals don't seem to get along with the Mobius being before them, so I scrapped that and put the post loop of the Mobius in the Timeline's feedback loop. This will let me put any effect in the Mobius on the repeats of any delay in the Timeline. I tried it before and it was incredibly awesome, but managing the two at the same time could get a bit cumbersome. Which brings me to the last reason I rewired the board.

As you can see, I now have a bit of free space at the bottom left. I will within the next month or two be picking up a larger MIDI controller that will allow me to manage all three MIDI pedals on my board at once. I will be getting a Disaster Area DMC-6D with the expander switch. This will basically allow me to have up to 120 presets utilizing the Timeline, Mobius, and H9, or any combination of those three pedals. I will also have control over the Timeline's looper. The expander switch will be very handy as I can configure it for a master favorite setting (at Fretfire's suggestion, I will likely use this as a setting to bypass all three pedals) and master tap tempo.

Re: New Amp + New Pedalboard

Is that a bong??? lol I was worried that you would have some space requiring mOAR PEDALZ!!!! LOL want

Re: New Amp + New Pedalboard

Go:
Fuzz (GE1 & GE2)
Möbius Pre
Other distortion
Möbius Post

Is the H9 after the Timeline? What algorithms are you using?

I'm realizing my Phaser is too late on my new board, gotta move ahead of at least the muff, maybe FD2 also. I like how you described the Möbius' pre/post loop functionality.

Re: New Amp + New Pedalboard

Yeah, it goes Möbius->Timeline->H9. I'm mostly using it for reverb, stereo effects (the H9's stereo imaging on its delay algorithms is far superior to the Timeline. It doesn't sound as good as the TL though), and pitch shifting. I'm using the synthonizer, shimmer, plate, tape, and Ultratap algorithms. The blackhole reverb sounds fantastic from demoing it though, it will be my next purchase.

I could set up the Möbius like that, but I figured that I'd have more fun being able to put any Möbius effect on my delays. Besides, I would probably only really utilize the pre/post feature for phasing, and that's so limited compared to what the Möbius can do in the Timeline's feedback loop.

Re: New Amp + New Pedalboard

Very, very nice!!!

I love my NYC Pedal Head. I had no idea he had gone to tolex as an option now! I might have to move mine and get a tolex version.

Cool amp too mate!!

Re: New Amp + New Pedalboard

Yeah, he's got like twenty different tolex options, including a few varieties of snakeskin tolex.

Re: New Amp + New Pedalboard

I am sofa king proud of you.

LOL!! Love this! Mind if I use it?

Itching to hear more about this amp! Sounds great from the description. Wish we could get an A/B shootout to see how it compares to the Egnater seminar amp.

Also, thanks for the info on the board! I have a hand built board thats getting the job done, but looks kinda ghetto. I had previously built a big closed box like what you have, but couldnt source any proper latches so was hard to keep it from falling open. Also, it weighs about 90lbs . So I built a smaller, 2 tier board, but Id like a more pro looking/functioning board
