New Amp!!!!

well I finally broke down and went to cg today and got a used behringer
GMX212 amp to use with my PODXT for $140 out the door, besides being a little dusty its nice. you all know how iv been loking for an amp to go with my pod and this one should work, am going to mess with it today.

oh also for all those in so cal

cerritos guitar center has 2 carvin legacy combos for $750 (normally $1100)

I tried an OLP MM guitar and I really liked it, it had no output jack and needed a new nut, they where asking $200 and I tried to get them down to at least $130 but no go. I hope it is there in a couple of weeks, or I sell my guitar in a couple of weeks (please guys help me out here!!)

Re: New Amp!!!!

Some guys on sevenstring.org like that amp a lot, they say it's really good for the money and sounds pretty awesome by itself too. I've seen them but never used one.

Re: New Amp!!!!

Im really digging the clean sound, I think if I put a dist pedal in front of it I could get some decent chugging tone. Bass response is really good for a 2x12combo amp. Its REALLY loud at 60Wx2 if I turn her up on the dirt channel past 3 my neighbors are gonna call the cops and my wife will shoot me.
Thankfully I got this amp to play at church and jams.

Re: New Amp!!!!

emilio check the sale/trade aria, it has 2 dings on the back of the headstock
nothing big just some normal wear and tear dings but the rest of the guitar is in great shape. im just trying to get rid of it cause I dont like the
big (read fat like a les paul) neck, not my thing. plus im not gonna make money off a sale here on the forum I got it for $300 im gonna sell it for $300

Re: New Amp!!!!

well a small review of the amp

I like the clean channel and channel 2 can get some drive going but

the amp with my POD XT is :

crap crap crap crap

I tried using my POD XT in the fx loop, slave in (L and R), and in the main front imput and it made my pod sound like crap. and because It was a used piece of equipment GC wont take it back.

so what are my options guys?

should I try a bunch of pedals in front of it ?

try to sell it and buy a REAL amp (read TUBES)?

other?

Re: New Amp!!!!

You probably need to mess with the speaker emulation on your pod. Doesn't the pod have options like making it sound like you're playing thru a 4x12 or a 2x12?

Also, you'll probably have to tweak your settings, both on the POD and on the amp. What sounds good in headphones doesn't always sound good comming out of speakers. You've only had the amp a very short period of time, so it's way to early to throw in the towel. You have a lot of adjusting to do.

Take some time and don't give up so quickly.

Re: New Amp!!!!

There's some kind of switch that is in place just for amps. Check your owner's manual. I got my POD to sound good, but I read some instructions first!
