New Baritone Guitar Need Pickup Suggestion

I just picked up a squier subsonic baritone guitar. This thing is a beast. I have never owned a bartone axe, and I must say this one really rocks. The stock pickups are not the greatest and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I have it tuned to drop c and I play through a high gain amp. I play hard rock style music.

Here are the specs for the guitar. This is what caught my eye. It has a set neck. It has a reverse headstock and it is a 27 or 27.5 scale. The strings on this thing a huge. I have never seen anything like it, and I got a chance to jam on it good and loud last night. It is great, but the pickups could be better.

Here is a pic.

Re: New Baritone Guitar Need Pickup Suggestion

I have a full shred neck with an alt 8 bridge in my les paul baritone. The alt 8 seems very fluid. a full shred bridge is another awesome choice for baritones and downtuning.

What are you tuning it to and what styles are you playing?

Yeah, what style is the main thing. I built a baritone Strat, I tune it B-B, but I was interested in rock/twang, not heavy metal stuff, so I went with SSL-1s in the neck and middle, and I had MJ wind me an alnico 5 humbucker that isn't wound super hot for the bridge. Great sounds, I can get piano-like cleans or dirty it up as much as I want to. Tons of sustain. I have the humbucker wired with a 3-way switch for series/single/parallel. To me, you have so much energy in those thick strings, a lower output pickup is the way to go...like SRV, he used big fat strings in his #1, and his pickups were actually underwound, contrary to rumor and legend.
