NEW BASS! Entering the World of Five-Strings

For some time now I have wanted a five string. I have also yearned for a EB Music Man for the past few years. While this isn't quite as nice as a real EB Stingray, it fulfills both desires for about $300. Purchased it used and restrung it with D'Addario Chrome Flat-wound strings.

It has 34" scale length maple neck (satin finish), high-output humbucker into active EQ preamp with treble, bass and master volume controls. Through my Mark Bass Little Mark II head and Traynor 1x15 cab it sounds great! Wide range of tones available, from warm & fat to Jaco or Seinfeld theme.

5-string with active EQ for $300? Can't beat that with a stick. Good deal!

I have the exact same bass. Excellent value. I wish it had a Mid range EQ knob, but hey for $300 I'm not complaining.

Of course, you could always upgrade to three-band EQ, courtesy of an SD/Basslines STC-3P system. There is a special MM version. Is the stock pickup American?
