Man i am so blown away by the sound and the way that lil devil takes the pedals.I traded this one for AD50VT , loved it but wanted to try BLU baby ,man iam so impressed.I hooked up my pedal board the whole rig is dead silent amazing tones, luv the little fat button, great sustain this thing takes pedal really well.So far i'm lovin it, reverb is pretty good too.

Glad you're enjoying it. I was hoping you would give it a go. I really really enjoy mine as well, and you're very much correct on how well they take pedals :)
I swapped out the tubes on mine, and didn't get much of a change in tone as far as I could hear, but when I swapped the stock speaker to a Jensen P12N I was pleasantly surprised to get even more great tone out of my amp, so that's something you may want to consider someday.

I'm diggin mine now too. My BJ is BONE STOCK and with the right pedal, it sounds killer. I'm using a Bad Monkey overdrive and a Metal Muff w/ Top Boost for my heavy distortion. I'm really diggin this amp now.

Re: New Blues Junior

take that great amp and add a sfx-03 in front of it with a boost and you have a 3 channel amp that can be used with great tone even at low volumes.

Re: New Blues Junior

Glad to hear that you went with the B. Junior, its a great little tube amp, with plenty of swat. Enjoy!

I too would love to get rid of my boxy-like tone, but do not know for what speaker to go !

Can you try and describe a bit more indetail how it changed your tone !

Thanx
;)

Re: New Blues Junior

I've had my JR, since I bought it new over 10 years ago. It is a good little amp for the money in its stock form...if you spend a few bucks it can be a great little amp...Speaker change and tubes.

I've got a celestion 70/80 in it and I also used a G1230H in it, both with good results. I also did the BillM tonestack mod since its an old greenboard model.

The only thing I dislike is the input jack. :yell:

I've had a Weber Blue Dog in mine for several years. Best bang-for-the-buck upgrade ever. Bass is much more defined, doesn't get flabby. Highs have more chime. If you want a cleaner tone, the Weber California is supposed to be great too.

Personally, I think the reverb is lame but mine's an older greenboard model and I haven't done Bill Machrone's reverb fix yet. The amp is stock except for speaker & tubes.
