New Boss Fender Bassman Pedal

Re: New Boss Fender Bassman Pedal

A local shop near me ordered a few of the new Boss pedals but the only one they got in so far is the new Fuzz pedal.

I'm really looking forward to giving the Dyna Drive a try.

Re: New Boss Fender Bassman Pedal

I tried both of the so called "Fender / Boss" pedals; bassman and deluxe reverb.

I own both amps and neither of these pedals come close to the real thing.

You can however, adjust your amp for the best tone out of the pedal. That's new - set up your amp for the pedal.

BUT to me, that's a step in the wrong direction.

Classify these pedals in the same category as the eric clapton, jimi hendrix, and brian may pedals made by ???. Good for people who just do not know better.

i think its digitech for those pedals. I would expect more from BOSS... but if it'll make them money I don't think they have a problem with it..

Kinda remarkable how they got reverb from a bassman amp!

Come on - At NAMM they set the amps, pedals and guitars up to demo the sound to sell!!!

Go ahead and read the manual, then try out the pedal on different amps, you have to set the amps up for the pedal, rather than the pedal to meet the amp.

What happens if your switching between pedals, do you stop playing to reset the amp??? That's my point!

Re: New Boss Fender Bassman Pedal

I bought the Bassman pedal from Guitar Center after playing around with it for an hour or so. Problem is that it wasn't with my amps or my other pedals. I took it back the next day.
I'll stick with my old Tube Screamer, RAT, MXR Dist+, thank you very much.

Re: New Boss Fender Bassman Pedal

The sounds on the video are pretty cool. I think a pedal like this would be useful with a power amp or with an Atomic.

Re: New Boss Fender Bassman Pedal

Maybe I should get rid of '59 bassman RI and get the pedal ....

Re: New Boss Fender Bassman Pedal

my problem is that these are marked to people who have no idea what the originals sound like.

Re: New Boss Fender Bassman Pedal

I'm positive to these and I'm waiting to try one out with my Pro Junior when I get the chance...

I have a HAO Sole Pressure that Rid has tweaked to my liking, I find that it works great and makes a very good tweedy tone, when playing at higher volume. But it doesn't do late night playing at quiet volume as good, especially light overdriven chords gets lost somehow.

So I'm looking into this pedal for that purpose...

Re: New Boss Fender Bassman Pedal

Oh, and I've read around on different forums about these and found that one skeptical statement that has come up alot is:

"It's just the same modeling stuff as the POD things, Why spend 140 bucks on this when you can get an used POD for that?!"

Personally, I'd rather buy one of these if this is the tone I want to model... Being a analog stuff, pure simple rig guy that only want's this one amp to model this would be exactly what I want. No big ass bulky POD with insanely amount of tweakablility as I'd still want to keep the pure simple rig intact, even when playing digital modeling.

The deluxe sounds pretty fun on the demo video. Doubt I'll be using one any time soon, though...

I caught a lot of slack for being so negative about these pedals when introduced at NAMM, but it sounds like my gut feeling was correct.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A GOOD FENDER AMP IN A PEDAL!!!!!!

+1

The bassman sounds like crap on that demo but the deluxe actually sounds usable, whether it's miles from the rear thing or not.

Re: New Boss Fender Bassman Pedal

I got to try one today. My Spina Modded Boss Super Overdrive sounds much better than this Boss/Fender Bassman Gizmo.
