New Boss Fender Deluxe Reverb Pedal

Re: New Boss Fender Deluxe Reverb Pedal

I don't think there is any reason to be disappointed if it doesn't sound like the real thing. I just don't feel that it is practical to assume that a pedal will actually bring the exact sound of these classic amps into your own amp. If I ever purchased one of these, I would just be looking at it as a unique overdrive pedal.

I don't think that is the case for the average consumer though. It says 'Fender Deluxe Reverb' on it. The colors and fonts are the same used in the reissue version of the amp. Everything about it is marketed as sounding like an actual Deluxe reverb. I know the more well-informed people of this board might know that it is impossible to capture an amp's tone and feel in one pedal, but believe me, there are lots of people who don't realize this. To my ears, it sounded kinda like a mild overdrive with some reverb and trem- nothing more. It wasn't a bad sound, but it isn't a Deluxe sound.

Believe or not I actually really want to take one of those for a spin!

I probably wouldn't run it in front of an amp though...

I'm thinking that if it sounds & feels good to play through DI'd into a mixing desk it might be like a mini-POD. Maybe run other pedals in front of it. I could even bring it to a gig as a worst case scenario backup if the amp blows up...

Plug my pedal board into the Boss Dlx 'Verb and the Boss into a DI box.

Re: New Boss Fender Deluxe Reverb Pedal

I think I'll take one of these pedals for a spin as well, I'm definately not looking for it to sound like a Deluxe Reverb, but its another tone option in the mix and a pedal that has a gain (overdrive really) reverb AND a tremolo (tap tempo control as well) for under $150....thats pretty cool.
