New Boss "Fender" pedals

I apoligize if a thread was already created similar to this. So have any of you guys tried these pedals out? The ones I saw were a Bassman pedal and a Deluxe reverb pedal, if im not mistaken. If you have played them how do they sound. Its obvious they arent like the real thing but how close do they get???

Re: New Boss "Fender" pedals

Those things a pure gimmick. No one believes they will turn your Brand X amp into a Fender. Try at your own risk. Let us know how you like 'em. Go ahead you try them first. ;)

*My post was laced with little bit O sarcasm. I am curious how they will "sound". But, I don't expect too much. One the other hand they are Boss products, thus they can't be that bad can they?*

Personally I think they're the dumbest thing I've ever seen. First of all, pedals don't change the sound of your amp, they just add to it. As Guitar Toad said, they aren't going to make your amp sound like a fender amp. If they're going to be useful as anything then it would probably be just a volume boost/EQ adjustment.

The videos on www.bossus.com look pretty sweet to me. Especially the Bassman one.

I don't expect it to duplicate the sound of those old Fender amps completely, but I seems to go pretty close. It's not the sound of a Bassman that I'd be chasing anyway, I just like the sound of that pedal.

If it gets you the tone you want, then cool. Obviously it's not going to be exactly the same as the real thing. It looks to me like they've designed it as a single-purpose modeller.

I think the DRRI sounds the best of them. I don't think I would ever buy one, but I think they're neat.

Cool videos. Sound like just mild overdrive pedals. I really like the Vibrato function on the DR. I'm not sure how worth $150 bucks it would be though.

IMO If it gets you the sound you are looking for, then it's a tool-

Re: New Boss "Fender" pedals

The key to these things will be going direct or into a non-coloring solid state amp.

People will end up running one into their plexi thinking it'll turn it into a deluxe reverb and then bash the hell out of it when they discover it doesn't work that way.

They were using a JC120 roland solid state for these clips. Those amps are sickeningly clean, but sound pretty damn good. I hear more of the JC120 vibe than I hear the pedal in those clips, but it doesn't sound bad by any means.
