New Brent Hinds V. Very cool!

Im not real big on signature models. I look at the features of the guitar, not the name on it. But Epi has a new Brent Hinds V that I really dig! Great looking guitar, VERY cool/classy looking headstock. Nothing garishly "signature" looking about it except a logo on the BACK of the headstock. His name is on truss cover, but thats an easy change.
Very curious how the Lace pups are??

I really like this guitar!! Check it out!!

Wow!
Nice!
:headbang:

You'd prolly hate the neck, tho,BR,esp if it's anything like my Epi Explorer...
(pretty honkin')

Re: New Brent Hinds V. Very cool!

this is going to sound weird but my favorite Gibson/Epi models that have come out in recent years have been the sig models from Mastodon & Dethklok. I love the Bill Kelliher explorer. And that all white Snow Falcon is great too. This V looks sweet too.

I rarely listen to Mastodon and Dethklok is pretty funny but not really my jam. I just like the styling on all of those even though I'd never play like those bands.

Re: New Brent Hinds V. Very cool!

I had a feeling from the description that the neck may be a porker...
Blakejcan, not really into either band myself, but like the axe..

Re: New Brent Hinds V. Very cool!

Nice guitar. I don't understand why Epi doesn't make more '58 & '67 V's. They're great guitars.

Re: New Brent Hinds V. Very cool!

I like the custom appointments on that, looks like a high end guitar.

Re: New Brent Hinds V. Very cool!

That's a great looking guitar and the LACE Hammerclaws are killer. Unfortunately, the fat neck profile makes me want to cry a little...

The appointments are what hit me.. The headstock inlay and board inlays and binding and all are classy. Upgraded pups. And the reinforced input jack. only thing it needs is straplocks. (and of course the neck sanded down.....haha)

Re: New Brent Hinds V. Very cool!

Flying V's aren't my cup of tea, but this one looks tasty. All the features seem legit and the marriage of an ebony board with mahogany is always gold.

Big Mastodon fan btw

Not my all-time favorite design, and certainly strange to hold and play, but they do have a charm about them. For me, their appeal is largely that a few bluesmen have used them, along with Hendrix and Andy Powell (Wishbone Ash).

Re: New Brent Hinds V. Very cool!

^^ Interestingly enough, I always love seeing Hendrix play a Gibson. Almost much more than when he plays a Fender because the tone from his fingers always shine through no matter what he plays.

That thing is spec'd perfectly, for what I like. I was afraid it would have a skinny neck like the Epi 58 Korina V.

I'd consider buying this one because I love silverburst and all it's specs. The truss rod cover would have to go though.

Re: New Brent Hinds V. Very cool!

The Epi 58 Korina's neck is thin? I always thought it was on the thicker side, which I liked.

Re: New Brent Hinds V. Very cool!

That guitar is all kinds of win. Talk about a signature model done right!

Yeah, thats my thoughts. (cept the fat neck) But otherwise, the guitar is class. No gaudy inlays or graphics except the one on the back of the headstock
