Hey new guy here . I have an emg 81 85 in 1 guitar and I'm putting a full shred in the neck of my second guitar cause the 85 ,the jb and the 59 are all too muddy for me. Anyway I'm thinking invader would be a nice match with the full shred as they seem to balance nicely.I will keep it low and away from the strings. I'm also considering the dd cause I've heard the invader is too muddy. I just don't want a hi shrill axe. Its a Jackson sl2h string thru. ANY Ideas? I know the warrior has this combo any warrior players here?

Welcome to the board YJM!... I don't know much about them - I'm getting a Distortion in 2 weeks, but from what I've heard, the Invader is good for strats because it's highs aren't too much, but nice bass.
Duncan Distortion is more levelled out I think. I know a lot of guys know about the Distortion, they will be able to chip in.

I've used both, and can't really fault either one. I will say that I'm not crazy about the Invader's tone when pulled away from the strings, but I've heard lots of guys who do. Unlike most people, I do like the Invader's clean tone, which most do not. The Distortion is a killer pickup, as well. Honestly, I don't think you'll be disappointed either way you go. I know you definitely will NOT get a shrill sound from the Invader.

Yea but from your sig you have a pearly gates neck. I think 2 fs would be shrill city thats why I'm thinking invader. I had 1 in the 80's in my Kramer stagemaster and it was powerful but bassy if I remember right. I'm still thinking on this 1 if anyone else can chime in I'd be grateful. I like Invader pups. They're not necessarily deficient in the treble department, they're a very broad frequency response pickup. The only reason I can think of that I hear people even say that is that everyone is jonesing for bass that they've got amps with the bass set on 10 trying to sound like a friggin' bass. Full Shred pups are a touch lighter in the bass response, but are also quite nice sounding. But I would think that an Invader bridge would go very well with a Full Shred neck.

Welcome to the fourm YJM, i think the Custom might be a better choice. Theres also the Deamon, but all in all the DD and Invader are good too......
