So yeah i wanted to wait till we finished the rerecording of this song, but the latest session of the song was done in october and i dont think im going to be working on this song till after the ep is recorded and happy (which now has a deadline of before april yay!) so i figured i might as well post what i have of the song now which is still a healthy section of the song at about 5 minutes but is only about 2/3rds complete...

So this one is definitely different and will probably prove to be a love or hate kind of song but oh well, at least we dig it hehe! Oh yeah and the production isnt exactly up to speed cuz its an oct2006 mix but hopefully its fine for a teaser.

I really liked the main riff towards the beginning of the song. Nicely structured and melodic - esp. considering most polyrhythmic rock-based music tends to abandon melody for rhythm altogether.

The mix seemed a little weird to me, though. Hollow-sounding, and not just the guitars. It was like I had to turn it up really loud to hear it right.

This song is probably my favourite. It still has that killer polyrhythmic/groovey-ness vibe that you have going on, and some newer ideas that just take it from good to amazing.

EDIT: Just listening through again, whent he first heavy riff kicks in, it puts a big smile on my face :laugh2:

Perfect example of how to effectively use a seven string. I really dig it towards the end when it gets really melodic.

At first I thought "Just another Meshuggah style song".
Then I listened to the whole thing. Wow. Very melodic and inspiring towards the end.
I think you have put Meshuggah and all the wannabe's to shame.

well comparing the one you didnt mean to post vs this one, i think this version wasnt as organized riff wise. Kinda got thrown back and forth through the guts of the song. I like that type of writing, but it didnt quite hit the mark. The tone was a bit better too.

Bulb is a Rawk Gawd. Great riffs, great tones, professional-level stuff all around. I want a seven string sooooooobad when I hear this guy's stuff.
