New Cab Day - HRDiii

Finally I got my second Hot Rod Deluxe iii extension cabinet, immediately swapped the stock speaker with a Celestion Century Vintage, the other one already had a Celestion Lynchback. Yesterday I started playing with a dry/wet configuration lots of reverb and delay. As lots of people say the note definition is much better because of one speaker being a dry sound. I am waiting for the TC Mimiq to arrive and start trying some stereo sounds, for that the cabs will be away from each other to try to achieve a wider stereo sound.

As an HRD III owner, I’ve often wondered how those cabinets are.

looks great. how are you running the wet dry setup?

ISP's Stealth, it is a stereo SS power amp for guitar. You can useone side for small gigs, two sides for louder stereo or wet/dry or the bridged output for max power in mono. It is usually on the pedalboard (you can see the available space) but I have been moving pedals around, doing some A/B speaker sound test with the line selector, etc.

I think they are ok for an amateur like me. I chose these cabs because they are closed back and oversized, I can easily turn it into open back if I want to but I would need to put a new jack inside as the one in the back is fixed. Also it is easier for me to move them myself in and out of the car, for rehearsal or small gig I can only take one or for a louder gig now I can take two, or just have fun with wet/dry or stereo setups. The stock speaker is not that bad really, it is just it was not that good for high gain but it is totally fine for cleans and blues IMHO.

The TC Electronics Mimiq arrived yesterday. Using two speakers already made a bigger but the Mimiq can really enhance the sound considering my wet signal is actually 50% dry+ 50% wet, it is now a dry/wet with dual tracking, sound nice. Hopefully this weekend I will have the chance to put the cabs on different corners of the room and try the stereo configuration.

I really dig that setup very compact but flexible. I would imagine it can handle just about any tone or gig. Nice job.
