Ordered a Vintage 2x12 from Avatar and according to FedEx it's on the truck for delivery today..... sweet! Just thought I'd tell you guys because very few people I know will think this is cool. Happy Friday!

Re: New cab on the way!

I hear you. When it comes to gear, my wife's attention span is about 10 milli seconds.
So did you get a loaded cab?

Yep, it's coming with a pair of vintage 30's. They're best suited for what I'm doing at this point. I'm really looking forward to it!

Re: New cab on the way!

COOL I have a pair of Avatar 2/12 cabs myself. One is a Red cab with Vin 30's and one is Blond with OxBlood with 75's. Both are just the standard Traditional cabs and sound not just good but GREAT!!

Re: New cab on the way!

Doubtful that it'll be a hot blonde, so it looks as though my Valveking head will take that place.

i hope you mean hot blonde as in the amp, otherwise were it me i prefer a brunette:naughty:, but one of each is fine with me

Re: New cab on the way!

Nice. Those are great cabs. My evil twin bandmate guitarist has one as well with the V30/G12H combo. That's one awesome sounding cab. I'm not a fan of the V30 at all but the G12H really works well with it and makes up for what I don't like in the V30. I'm looking at getting one myself with a pair of Classic Lead 80's. :)

Re: New cab on the way!

Very cool! I'm looking into an Avatar Vintage 212 in the near future myself. I'll be curious to see how much you like it. Post some pics when it arrives if you can, inquiring minds want to know.

Re: New cab on the way!

Avatar makes some rockin cabs. And the people who work there are really nice. Congratulations on the new speakerbox.

Looks like I'll have it Monday now.... and I'll be sure to put up pics and a review asap!

Re: New cab on the way!

Right on, everything i've read, heard from our own forum bros and elsewhere your cabinet should be top quality.
I can't wait to see your setup.

Yeah I ordered it based on forum guys' reviews, and my previous experience with vintage 30's in marshall cabs. I can't wait till Monday now.

Re: New cab on the way!

hey Jay i've been interested in getting a 2x12 for a long time now... my new Camry is not 4x12 friendly and i can't always borrow my dads van...

where did you order that cab from? and what was the final price for a fellow Canadian.... duty, shipping, cab price... PM it to me if you don't want to post it openly...

It ended up being $397 US, shipped. They don't ship to Canada but I have access to an American address in Niagara Falls, NY so it was sent there. There's a Canadian distributor out of Winnipeg that will ship but their pricing is absurd. It would have cost me over $600 through them.

And no 4x12 in the trunk? Mine fits exactly into my Mazda 3 sedan...

Re: New cab on the way!

Been thinking about getting a contemporary 2X12 from them for leaving at home. Let us know how you like yours :).

Gladly. The whole reason for getting this one is that my 4x12 is too big to use in some bars & pubs that I'll be playing in, but I still wanted to use my current head. I'll write up a full review once I get it home & fired up, and then after gigging I'll likely write another.
