Earlier this day, Jack Thammarat held a clinic at a store nearby. Laney and Yamaha products were on sale.

I pulled the trigger, and got a 2x12. Now eagerly waiting for a head...

I need to control my GAS.

What's it got for speakers and what sort of head are you going to put on it?

It has their own HH designed speakers. I've been in touched with an amp maker. I'll give his products a try tomorrow. Probably won't have a head for a few months, though.

Make sure you take your cab if you can - a specialty speaker might be less easy to match amp-wise without a direct test.

I'll try, but I don't think I would. I know speakers make a difference, but it's not too much a simple EQ fiddling can't solve, right?

I'm not even sure, but I'm looking for cleans, mainly. Not anything specific, either, but I've been trying out amps to find "that tone" for a few months now.

ah, I see. Have you gotten a change play any of the Laney's? Their Lionheart series are suppose to have some really prestige cleans (so I'm told) and of course there's always the classic fenders or Marshalls.

Er no. The speaker makes a big difference in tone, and a simple 3 band passive eq is not going to do much to change the speaker's nature.
