New Charvel Jake E Lee model....pretty cool

Re: New Charvel Jake E Lee model....pretty cool

I don't think so, I have the same amp and there's so much gain on tap it needs no booster like a ds1

Jake always used a Boss OD1 Overdrive, two knob version, with his old Marshalls. I'd be surprised if he needs it with the EVH though. He also used Peavey 5150s when they first came out.

Great info. Do you know about the flanger he used on Bark at the Moon?

I've always liked Jake's playing and I have the new Red Dragon Cartel album and it rocks. I always thought he got short changed in comparisons with Zakk Wylde, Wylde is good, but man does he love the pinch harmonic. While I can't afford the new Charvel Jake Model, I wish they would build an import versions of it. I have never played an Ash body guitar and am curious as to how it would sound playing metal. I have read good things about ash, but it is commonly associated with the twangier sounds.

I heard that, too. Was choice of wood about weight?

I remember reading in an interview that he had used pretty much all Boss pedals, a CE-3 Chorus, DD2 Delay, and a PS2 Phaser (or maybe a PS1-r?) so if there's a Flanger I'd guess Boss BF2.

The new Jake E Lee model is slightly different from what he's using- his main guitar they made for him has a mahogany neck and ebony board. He's also preferred the 2 different size frets, and 24 3/4 scale neck, but no word if that's on his current guitar.
