New clip - string guage/low tuning test

hi fi stream

The strings are Kerley Earthtones 13-58's on the acoustic, and ernie ball beefy slinky's (11-54) on my electric (gordon smith:))

First impression I am very impressed with these Kerley strings. Cheap in comparison to elixirs, they actually feel like real strings (they're coated).

They came packed in a sealed ziplock bag, with a packet of that weird stuff they put in your acoustics soundhole to keep the moisture correct or whatever that stuff does!

The ernie balls, are well, ernie balls (RIP).

Both guages are perfect for D standard. The acoustics feel pretty much identical to a set of 11's in standard, and the electrics feel like 10s in standard (my fave guages).

So I'm happy.

The piece is original, so tell me what you think :)

Re: New clip - string guage/low tuning test

Nothings clipping on MP3...Very nice acoustic sound, The lead was good but nothing special IMO..Excellent playing tho and love that acoustic piece..

Re: New clip - string guage/low tuning test

thanks man.

yeah the electric was just thrown over the top without much thought

i suppose i should have kept it all acoustic and wrote a second section instead

Re: New clip - string guage/low tuning test

Yeah it sounded kinda thrown in, the playing was good but not sure if it sat right over the acoustic..

Re: New clip - string guage/low tuning test

I really liked that piece. The acoustic tone sounded great and the lead playing was very good. I thought the feel and note choices were excellent.
