New Duncan Custom Riff w/ Gibson SG Jr Solo Thingy

JOLLY

Super Simonologist
I just kinda came up with this tonight in a drunken stupor. I like the riff. I'm not too sure about the mix, like I said, I just did all this crap with the help of my lil friend George D!ckel. The guitar's sounds are decent I reckon, I kinda dig my sporatic drunk solo at the end, the bass has a half ass sound, and the drums are totally out of time..but what the hell eh? It's only rock n roll.

It's with my Gibson Les Paul Classic Premium plus with the Duncan Custom in the bridge for the rhythms and for some crazy ass reason I decided to pick up my Gibson SG Jr. for the solo thing. Anyways as usual...I staggered through this and I hope you enjoy!!:friday:

Maybe I'll name this "Thursday Stupor"....lol

Rock and Roll mates!!

Re: New Duncan Custom Riff w/ Gibson SG Jr Solo Thingy

The riff that starts around 1:00 is my favorite part. It's got some groove to it. :) The main riff is OK, but kind of stock.

Nice lead tone. I live SG Juniors. I'll never part with mine.

See, that's pretty neato to me...and thank you by the way. I came up with that riff you're talkin bout like 10-12 yrs ago....just never used it. It sounds old as all get out to me, but I do like it's groove factor. I kinda liked the first riff till you said it was generic....and honestly, I gotta agree with you. It does have that generic feel, actually, I think 90% of my crap does. That's why I try and do different drum and bass crap, so that I can make it a tad different.
Anyways, thanks for the constructive criticism....I appreciate it bro!!:)

Re: New Duncan Custom Riff w/ Gibson SG Jr Solo Thingy

the seccond riff is really grinding ,the main riff is more "common" but still fat!.
Nice tune Jolly!

Nice beginning doublestop, nice rhythm riff. Who's playing drums? They're pretty good!

I liked it! Now all you need is some hard-hitting vocals and I'd be buying it! :D

Thanks man!!

LOL....I don't even know what a doublestop is. However, I've heard the term alot. I'm playing the drums. I really need to redo them. I wasn't exactly sober when I did them, or any of the other instruments and tracks.:smack: I just said the heck with them and left them. I play them in real time on a Boss DR-770. I never took the time to figure out how to program it...lol.

You can play some drums!

Doublestop: two notes played together. Usually sounds bluesy on a guitar.

So you used the DR-770? How do you like it? How easy is it to use?

Thanks and now I know what to call those...lol. Yeah, I love my DR-770. It's always been easy for me to use. Like I said though, I never took the time to learn to program it.

D@MN....I need to start drinking D!ckel !!! :headbang:

Very Skid Row to me....love all the harmonics & the part where you change it up, at around 00:57, sounds great!!

What are the amps?

LOL...@ the Dikkel remark. Thanks man. I'm using my trusty ole Line6 AX2/212. The rhythms are a modeled Marshall JCM 800 set at about 4 with a modeled tube screamer in front of it set with a darker tone on about 6. There's just a tiny lil tad of chorus and delay on there (as usual) just to kinda make a bit fuller sounding. The lead is a modeled Mesa Mark IV loaded with a ton of delay as usual.
