Someone mentioned the new Stack Plus as possibly making his SSL-1/SSL-1/Twangbanger set obsolete...I don't really think that will be the case.
The SSL-1's still get closer to the tone of an actual early 60's Fender Strat pickup and those and the Antiquity Surfers are still a little brighter and chimier and more vintage accurate.
And the Twangbanger has a hotter tone with more mids that pushes my amp amp harder than the new Stack Plus pickups do.
But the Stack Plus pickups have great, great tone...and they are noiseless. I've been playing them and only them all summer and fall and I've totally gotten used to the slightly warmer, slightly thicker tone they have.
It's a very comfortable and inspiring tone that they have.
