Will probably get a Neo-Clone to replace my original clone. The Freeze looks interesting, apparently does the "gliss" effect that's on the HOG. The Germanium 4 is errr certainly BIG, like a lot of other EH pedals. The headphone amp, meh....looks a bit lame, there are already a million other headphones amps out there plus I can't stand playing into headphones. The 44 magnum amp looks very cool. Twice the power of the .22 calibre and yet still small enough to put in your pocket.

44 magnum amp looks cool! nice as backup amp. usually their pedals are so big and take up soooo much real estate!

Re: New Electro Harmonix products

Germanium Big Muff Pi looks like they stuck a Germanium Overdrive and a BMP in the same box. Cool idea...would like to try it.

Almost all of my pedals are EHX and they sound great.

Re: New Electro Harmonix products

Yeah, it's a OD and Fuzz box all in one. Should be sick to use stacked.

Re: New Electro Harmonix products

^ I know my Muff likes being kicked in the front with an OD pedal...haven't plugged their Germanium OD into a Muff yet but i'll have to now.

Re: New Electro Harmonix products

Hmmm, that Neo Clone looks like it would be a great space-saver on my pedal board. The regular small clone is a little bit bulky...

Has anyone tried the .22 or .44 caliber amp pedals. If I understand correctly, you just plug in a speaker to the output... what's it sound like?

Marshall?
Fender?
Mesa?
None of the above?

Re: New Electro Harmonix products

holy smokes, they're up to 44 watts in a pedal?!?! I want the 22 just for giggles - would be neat to just run a dist pedal, the power amp pedal, and a cab.

from the EHX website:

"Crank the 22 Caliber's volume, and it'll go into overdrive -- like a vintage amp with a single volume control. Flip on the Bright switch to add some bite and definition. It's not just a guitar head; it's a shrunken head, with all good voodoo." source: http://www.ehx.com/products/22-caliber

It overdrives if you have the level high: Soundclip demonstrating .22 caliber cranked tone through a 2x12

I've heard some mixed reviews on headroom and it's usefulness for playing live but the consensus seems to be positive from some users of the .22 at The Gear Page:

Hopefully the .44 caliber will be a much more powerful tool. Though, I just realised that you still have to use a 24DC-3000 power supply to operate the thing which doesn't make it so compact after all. Any bigger and you might as well just get a Crate Powerblock for about the same price. Hmmmm....

I have the 22 cal. I remember it having its own sound... Here' a video for reference (I believe it is THE amp in the recording):

I suppose I could make a simple video of my setup if I get them time here...

EDIT: No EHX thread would be complete without some jive and dance from Mike Matthews!

That Big Muff looks really interesting! I've been stalling getting a regular muff, maybe that'll finally kick me enough somewhere so that I bite the bullet and get some more rumbling going on.

Re: New Electro Harmonix products

little power amps intrigue me.......but, all their new stuff is surface mount boards, and who wants to mess w/ those?

Re: New Electro Harmonix products

That freeze has got my attention. VERY interesting!

Everything else...meh. Well...except for the muff. That looks kinda cool.

Re: New Electro Harmonix products

I'm glad they're doing a smaller version of the Clone right this time. I had a nano clone for a short period of time, I ended up giving it to my friend who plays synth. The actual chorus sounded ok, but it was very noisy and created a significant volume drop when engaged. Phil 104 uses one and seems to like it. But I hated it, no matter how much I wanted to love it. I did only play 20 bucks for it on Ebay, that was nice.

I had one. It's gone now since i cleared up the pedalboard. It sounded good for practice and working out songs, but ended up being useless in live situations. It had to go. Hopefully this version doesn't have the problems the other one did.

Re: New Electro Harmonix products

EH seems to be one of those few companies that just gets better and better. And best of all, they keep their prices right where they should be.
