New Fender P Bass

OK, I've never played bass before, but I schnagged one today, after a lot of planning, and saving, and searching. It's a Fender USA P-Bass in a kind of obnoxious fire-engine red ( sorry no picks yet ) with a maple neck. I couldn't find one nearby over the net, so I bought new ~ $1K.

Mostly, I've wanted one to complete my home studio, so I don't have to use the silly guitar-to-bass function on my recording software, which sounds rather budget at best. I'm already thumping away having fun, and fortunately own an old Bassman, as well as recording capabilities. I'm sure I'll be tapping all the knowledge here for bass concepts.

Re: New Fender P Bass

Congrats! P's are my favorite basses, the look so classic :)

StrangSound helped me get my cheapo P-Bass copy from Germany earlier this summer, so now I can record decent sounding bass lines. Although I'm no bass player it sounds alot better than guitar lines lowered one octave.

Love to see some pics that P-Bass! :D

Re: New Fender P Bass

You gotta get pics!

That's what I want to get if I get a bass. A P-Bass. Can't justify buying a USA one though. I wonder how much an Edwards P-Bass is.

Edit:

Hmmmm...

They do have a couple P-Basses, but this is very tempting!
