New Fret Job Part Deux! Hopefully dodged an expensive one....

LReese

Sausage Gravy
This time 1975 Hardtail.

Frets chewed all to heck, but she's got mojo. Going for the same 6100 sized wire as the Clapton. Got a bad surprise with the truss rod. The rod and nut are seized.

The Luthier got the rod out of the guitar and looks like it will likely go back in - otherwise major surgery or replace the neck. Its not broken - The end of the rod is threaded so looks like it should be able to go in with a little persuasion and locktite.

There might be some in progress repair pics on this one.

Didn't realize my pic was that blurry - oh well.

I made up a new harness with Antiquity II's to boot. Originals tucked safely away.

Got a note from the luthier - Truss rod is back to life! Whew!

Probably was CBS'ed up at the factory. No one probably cares, but I'm going to have my '70s on in a couple of weeks!!!! Bring me my Bell Bottoms! I'm practicing my Bee Gees songs right now!

Here we go again... Frets removed by the super-secret sideways technique. :D

Stoked by having the choice of retaining the original finish. Its going to stay.

:D

For those that don't know - Fender slid in their frets from the side using a tool made for the purpose up until '82. These were taken out from the side using something like a center punch and hammer.
