I've been relying on an attenuator to crank my plexi and give me overdrive at reasonnable levels, but I was really missing the clean sound of my amp. So I went and bought a brand new Boss OD-3 overdrive and and whammo, I think I like the sound better than with the attenuator: it is a lot crisper, more open and it works better for both dirty rhythm and leads. Note that the settings are 0 drive and volume full on, so it allows for transparency but a lot of guts too. I guess I'll have to get a new moniker for the Forum! Any suggestions?
