Re: New Gibson "Dusk Tiger"

This is the third thread we've had about this guitar......lol

Re: New Gibson "Dusk Tiger"

Take off the stupid chrome, lose the ridiculous inlays and make the back look like the top and it'd be a good looking guitar.

Re: New Gibson "Dusk Tiger"

I'd play that if it wasn't a robot... it's different enough for me to like (especially since so many folks will hate it) but I really don't have any use for the robot system.

Re: New Gibson "Dusk Tiger"

I should mention I have nothing against the Robot system. If it works well and tunes quickly between songs I'd use it. I certainly think it's a lot more useful than a Variax.

Re: New Gibson "Dusk Tiger"

i'm gonna file this one under "It's not broke, don't fix it."

Just a different-looking Les Paul. Great for people who want a Gibson Les Paul with a really lame marketing-driven name.

Seriously, what's with them naming their new designs like perfumes?

But it isn't. A Variax can get different sounds as well as retune instantly and keep the same string tension. I've owned 2 Variax guitars and played a few Robots and the Variax solves the retuning issue faster.

Re: New Gibson "Dusk Tiger"

The crap just doesn't end, does it? They are like monkeys at a type writer, just banging away at the keys at random. Sometimes they almost get a whole sentence out. Usually not.

See Spot Rvohnr eucb swu3yr b4.

Are those leftover Kramer inlays? Did a bag of switch plates fall of the Zemetis truck by their factory?

Re: New Gibson "Dusk Tiger"

They prolly just open up the spare parts bin at gibson and just see what they can put together with all of the left over crap

Re: New Gibson "Dusk Tiger"

21st century version of the LP Recording.

Still, it's better value for money than that custom shop Fender Tele with TV Jones pups :D.

I disagree, I have no use for the emulated sounds of a Variax. IIRC the variax does different tunings with pitch shifting and doesn't actually retune the guitar, thus the feel of the strings is way off what you'd expect if you were playing in some alternate tuning. I have yet to play a robot but I've played a few variaxs and to me the robot concept is a lot more useful.
