New Gibson Les Paul "Double Trouble"

What if you just sold pickups that who two layers of bobbins, one removable and one thin and transparent, so you could pick you own colors.

Am I the only one who thinks double cream looks dumb no matter what they call it? I guess it's fine on some guitars for other people, I don't think this is flat-out ugly, but I wouldn't want it. I would feel like I was wearing clown shoes playing something like that.

i had foie gras creme brulee last night and it was amazing! i also like double cream pups. i just want duncan to be able to make me double creams and not deal with this dimarzio nonsense

Makes me wish I kept my original run Brobucker. I got one DC under the chrome cover. Stupidly sold it. That was before DMZ and Duncan had a talk about DC even under covers.

I think zebra pickups are like that for me, LOL. But there are rare occasions where zebra pickups look cool to me.

Double creams aren't my first choice most of the time either, but I think they can look OK.

I think dbl creme looks good with certain guitars

Sunburst
Blue ones
Brown ones

oh red ones too

ok and green ones

I think it depends on the whole color scheme of the guitar. You can make double cream work well if you've got cream somewhere else like cream plastics, cream binding, or maybe with the lighter wood color of Maple exposed somewhere.

I mean, some people can pull off purple flamed maple tops with gold hardware. Or even Telecasters. I'm just not one of them.

I'll take the one in the middle! But holding it will make me look like an ogre.

I have no idea how tall you are but i'm sure it can't be that bad? ;) I swapped those pickups out by the way for BKP Rebel Yell's in the flametop and BKP Crawler in the quilt top. These pickups were AxesRUs and were amazing but I just craved something else.

Well, I'm 6'2", but it's not my size so much as my general appearance and demeanor. The nicer the finish, the more obvious my own shortcomings by comparison. I even feel a little out of place with the gray flame veneer on my Schecter.

Rebel Yells would make it all worthwhile though... RY neck in the middle position too? I bet it sounds like a ripper!

I am not sure what I slapped in the middle I think a BKP blue note p90 with gold cover? I have to admit, I don't really love this guitar. It's too mid heavy. In fact, almost all BKP's that are low to medium output are very mid heavy. Even their stormy Monday. The Mule is a painful midheavy mess. Great for a short while then just too much.

Black boots, black pants, black shirt, black ski mask, VERY OVER THE TOP FANCY GUITAR. On a dark stage nobody will even see you, just a magical floating instrument and a pair of hands.

It's interesting you say that. I've had a Rebel Yell in the bridge of my Explorer for years - a fairly dark-sounding guitar - and I just set it back up to do some recording this week and felt like it was sounding quite midrangey. Pretty strident in some parts. I've been playing brighter guitars with ceramic pickups for a while so no surprise that my ears were conditioned to hear it differently. I love the 7 string version in my Epiphone but I think I might swap this one out in favor of the Cold Sweat I used to have there.

Great idea, but I don't know if I want to wear my entire work uniform onstage.
