New Guit -- Carvin Bel Air and Barber Drive content

Got a new guitar (clone of a classic) a few days ago, but I won't ruin your guessing fun.

On a side note, I really like how the Barber DD gives usable tones when recording without too much fuss. I just ran it through the Bel Air's clean channel, and I was fiddling with some knobs on the pedal and recording interface while playing, so sorry if I trailed off slightly.

The 'verb is from the Bel Air, and the delay that leads into the song is from Cubase. I was trying to capture the kind of delicate feel that Jeff Beck creates in the original recording. The song is "Cause We've Ended as Lovers" by the way.

Great feel, touch and tone! Stunning clip!

The bending around 1:32..freakish great!

Thanks SS, that means something considering you post many quality clips.

EDIT: Oh, and I highly recommend that you do try out the Direct Drive. Anyone looking for a nice overdrive pedal owes it to themselves to at least try. One of my favourite things about it is the quality of the mids, and I think you posted before that you're a fan of middy sounds. I've heard people say that DD is muddy, but if your amp has a decent EQ range via its own knobs, it shouldn't be a problem.

It's just definitely not a pedal you would buy to brighten up a dark, flabby amp. Though it can approximate the tubescreamer well, that's not where the DD shines.

Yeah, so screw the suspense:

I used my new Hagstrom Super Swede on the track.

I like the feel and sustain of this guitar. I'm considering some Phat Cats or Alnico IIs, but I'll give the stock pickups more of a workout for now.

Great song, and you played it really well.

Sweet tone, too, I'll have to check out the DD.
