yes its all Mahogany, except for the quilt top and the ebony board.

I couldn't wait any longer.... I soldered the DD into the bridge... Good God what bright tones of awesomeness! makes me wish I could play so much better because it sounds like a million bucks in there.... MAn! My favorite pup in my new favorite guitar!

This thread has inspired me, to pull my Schenker Custom back out. It had been pretty much unplayed, for quite a while, since my Gibsons are my babies. I'm falling in love, all over again!

This was a Dean Forum limited run that we put together and got through the Music Farm.

leave it to a n00b to resurrect an old thread but I have the same guitar and was hoping to get some more info on it. I bought mine a few years ago, its #2 I love it but have never known anything about it. You said it was a dean forum limited run that "we" put together, what did you mean by that?

Sorry man, looks like I've been ignoring you for 3 years now! Gosh im such a jerk! Yes. The DD absolutely slays! This is my best sounding guitar hands down. Love it.

EDIT: wow just read through the whole thing, I love mine even more! I bought mine used but when I first played it I fell in love with it, always thought the green dots were odd, now I know!

Hey there 64. IIRC, his is #9. Missed your thread on the Dean Forum or I would have responded. Nice find. :headbang: '80s raves about his all the time. The limited run guitars are always just a step above production models. I did not get in on this run but several Deans around here are limited run stuff.

If you like that V I suggest you look for a 2008 Goldtop V Dean did for the Open house that year.

Ya unfortunately the dean forum has kind of died off a lot recently..... used to be a fun place to hang out.

Btmn is correct, mine is #9 the green dots do still bug me abit. I replaced the nut, have an sh6 in the bridge, and a 59 in the neck. It plays so well and sounds amazing.

Dean Vs have their own thing going on. They feel different to me than Vs of other makers. I like them a lot better (but the cases are crazy heavy).

Hifimetal64, congrats!! Yeah, I almost got one of those Vs too.. Gorgeous! The limited Dean runs are (were ) cool! I got in on a diff one and the guitar was amazing!! BIG seller's remorse for selling it.
