So finally got the telecaster put together this evening. It turned out nice. I haven't done a complete set up yet because the big brown truck was late getting here today.

Two piece alder body from Renegade Guitarworks
Fender mx cabronita neck
Hipshot locking staggered tuners
Fender bridge
Bareknuckle piledriver
Unknown neck pup
Alpha pots
.033 cap
Oak grigsby switch. image.jpg

Very nice. Can't wait to hear how it sounds. And I don't normally like Tele's.

Nothing special about the playing. Just running through the pickups to be sure everything works as it should

Re: New guitar day! Partscaster

That looks and sounds great ! You have to be happy with that ?

In my experience (on a Strat), using staggered tuners still doesn't provide enough break-angle over the nut on the top B and E strings, and tone is lost. To keep the strength of tone on those strings, a string-tree is still required to tighten the break angle a bit. You can experiment by playing the open strings and squeezing them down a little bit behind the nut with the left hand to hear the difference.

But congratulations, that's a great looking Tele.

+1 for Neil's string retainer comments.

Don't worry about the feet in shot. We are getting accustomed to them in video demonstrations thanks to Nathan.

The flame on that neck would not look out of place on a Warmoth product.

Re: New guitar day! Partscaster

Funny you mention warmoth.
I was gonna order a neck from
Them and they stopped taking PayPal the very day I went to pay. I placed the order the
Night before got up to pay the next morning and they sent me
An email stating they no longer accepted that form of payment. So in walks in this lovely Mexican fender flame
Maple. I can see what you mean about the string Retainer, I was thinking the same
Thing myself. I'm gonna put it back tomorrow. I'm very happy with this build. It turned out lovely
